CREATE — Creating Real Educational Applications for Teaching Excellence — is an AINE (AI-eNabled Education) initiative. Over a single day, participants will develop practical, real-world AI use cases that tackle challenges in health professions or clinical education, using accessible no-code tools with governance and responsible use built in.

A hackathon is a focused, time-boxed event where participants work together to turn an idea into a working prototype. For CREATE, the focus is on using AI-assisted, no-code approaches to create education technology for health professions education.
No prior AI or coding experience is required. Participants will be guided through basic AI-assisted coding skills and will learn how to use AI to create a prototype.
Projects should focus on health professions education or clinical education problems, not clinical service delivery tools.

Introduces vibe coding — an AI-assisted, no-code approach that lets educators build interactive, customisable clinical simulations without programming. Demonstrated with two tools: the Differential Diagnosis Trainer (DDT) and the Insulin & Blood Sugar Simulation (IBSS), showing gains in accessibility, cost-effectiveness and scalability.
Practical tips to help educators design, develop and sustain their own educational applications with AI-assisted vibe coding — covering how to lower technical barriers and foster experimentation, alongside the common pitfalls and limitations to anticipate.
A 1-day Vibe Coding workshop in which all participants built functional educational apps within the day — including a plain-language clinical communication rewriter and a simulated-patient practice module with AI feedback. Self-rated competency rose from 3.3 to 4.2 / 5 (n = 11).
